Tony “Tough Tony” Chiu, PhillyAmateurs.com. My business is adult film production specializing in fresh new faces, from amateurs to pro-am to experienced (most recently).
How long have you been in the adult business?
Been in the business one week after I turned 18 years old in June of 2001. Originally it started-out as a small side income for extra spending money primarily selling on ebay.
But then when ebay got really restrictive on their guidelines for listing adult films and started getting to pricey in their auction listings I cashed out in the business for about a year which explains why my website doesn’t have too many movies at the moment. Last summer I decided to get back into the business only on a full time scale and instead of being small time selling on ebay for extra money I would create my own website and market it and sell through there and to make my business into the main source of income. I’m currently having my website modified to accept credit card payments online and adding new better movies on it and also allowing DVD copies made very soon in like a week or two.
What are you current projects?
I have a scheduled filming in mid April with Sara Jay. I have a pending project planned for having a 3-10 girl lesbian sex romp movie. Also I’m currently trying to figure out a way to work a project with my executive producer/director in which the finished edited movie would show people having sex in the middle of public streets during rush hour. Aside from updating my site at this moment and with filmings planned I will soon be launching a major marketing and publicity campaign to get more interviews and appearances and bookings etc locally and nationally, in the adult industry media venues and both in mainstream media. I’m currently in talks with 2 very well known connected publicists who work for major porn stars to be my publicist.
What did you do before you got into this business?
What I did before I got into the business were… I was a grocery bagger at a gourmet supermarket when I was 16 years old, I worked as a busboy at Bertucci’s restaurant and then went on to work as a bank teller but when I got fired from that job I had just turned 18 and used the money I saved up ($1,500) into launching my business. Recently I’ve been putting some money into my custom built luxury town home in South Philly and within just a little over a year of building the home the value went over $100 K of what I paid and has also caused a chain reaction in terms of changing the property and real estate development in my block and surrounding blocks. My house was probably the only luxurious and expensive house on the block and after I moved in a whole bunch of young people moved to properties on my block which used to be only older people living on the block. Also at the end of my block there’s new construction of 6 new homes for $400- 650 K each. My neighborhood was a fairly decent place to live before I moved in and all of the sudden when I moved in I was sitting on some upcoming prime real estate property in the city.
How did you get involved in the adult industry?
When I first started out with just $1,500 starting budget I bought a consumer digital camcorder which at the time was $600. Then about $100 into advertising in the adult employment section of an alternative weekly paper in Philly (Philadelphia Weekly) and found some cheap decent looking girls to do a lesbian shoot and then I marketed it on ebay.com. This was during the time where everyone was able to make a fortune on ebay and when it barely had any strict guidelines and all. Within about 6 months I was able to net $30 K. A lot of the big money came from me selling the tapes and when a movie didn’t sell well or barely sold at all I would simply sell the rights to other companies or new emerging companies or independent operators for up to 200% to over 1000% of what it originally cost me to produce the movie which at the time only cost a few hundred at the most. It was only until last summer that I discovered a better way of finding people in search of jobs in porn like sexyjobs.com and adultstaffing.com etc. That’s when I really started to get hooked-up with people in the industry all over the country.
What is something about you people wouldn’t expect?
People ALWAYS assume that because I’m the Founder and CEO of a porno company that I must be fucking and getting blowjobs from every girl working for me or at least trying to get work from me but the fact is that it’s entirely not true. I’m very professional and business-like. To me this is a business, not pleasure, well in a way it is pleasure since I have fun in this business as opposed to clearing off tables as a busboy. You ask anyone who has worked for me and they’ll vouch that I am professional and never try to make a move on the girls. I know that there are some producers who are on the same level as I am who do have sex with the girls and even though I may not think it’s anything illegal about it as long as they’re following the federal guidelines I tend to think of that as possible trouble. Reason being is say for example I were to do that, I’m opening myself up to possible extortion from a girl if she cries rape or sexual harrasment etc. And since most juries will tend to automatically think a male defendant who’s also the boss of a porno movie company that they’re automatically guilty. Some clear examples of these types of scenerios would be like Kobe Bryant sex scandal or the latest Michael Jackson trial. Most of all these types of trials or legal proceedings have resulted in a “settlement” out of court. I tend to think of that “settlement” as a payoff as a result of extortion.
Another thing people may not expect to know about me is that people (mostly men) think that because I’m in the business I’m always excited to do work. The fact is that sometimes whenever I’m working on my business 100-120 hours a week I tend to get kinda annoyed or bored while working. Seeing porn and seeing nude photos or movie clips of potential porn stars applying for work is sometimes tedious for me. It also can take a toll on my personal sex life, sex should be fun and relaxing but sometimes when I’m having sex I can’t seem to really relax and enjoy it since it usually would bring something in business coming on my mind like “oh I forgot to get back to this model’s message” I’ve been a single guy for over a year or two and I still would like to find that special someone in my life but have no idea how to make a relationship work since I never got serious in a relationship, My ideal wife one day would be someone who’s like me, business minded and successful in some way like a lawyer or business owner but I tend to have a hard time really finding someone among those qualities and still liberal and understanding of my business. Or I can go what most people in the industry do….start seeing the people within the industry since the opposite sex will clearly understand. My only problem is that I would be jealous if my partner is screwing another guy on camera, I know that sounds hypocritical since that’s their job and career but if I can find someone who’ll be like Jenna Haze where she stops doing b/g movies after marriage that’ll be alright with me.
Who do you enjoy working with?
I tend to get along well with just about anyone in the business. Just as long as their honest, truthful and at least respectful. Respectful in regards to if they’re going to be late for something like a filming or interview that they call ahead. What really gets on my nerves is when someone seems enthusiastic about a job during the interview and when it’s time to shoot they don’t show up or call to cancel or return my messages as to why they didn’t show up. Even if you’re going to cancel I ask that they at least give me the courtesy to say “hey i changed my mind I don’t want to do this” I would probably be more ok with that answer instead of waiting all day to hear from them. I’ll be upset that they canceled but at least I’ll respect them for giving me the courtesy of not wasting my time.
Who or what bothers the hell out of you?
The above mentioned answer and when some girls think they deserve more pay than they should receive when in reality they never did a film or have anything to prove themselves getting their desired pay amount. I had one girl that I used to have sex with and one day she said she would like to get into the business but the sad fact is that she wasn’t really good in bed, she didn’t like giving head or really even know how to really fuck in bed and here she wants to be in porno one time when all of the sudden she started gaining some pounds. She wasn’t good in bed, she wasn’t willing to give blow jobs, she wasn’t even willing to give hand jobs let alone DP’s or getting cum all over her face and swallowing etc.
Who would you like to work with?
I would really love to work with porn stars who started their own production companies like Jill Kelly, Jenna Jameson, etc. If I were to ever to decide to star in movies with porn stars those are the two big stars I would love to be with. Other’s include Jenna Haze even though she doesn’t do guys on film anymore, Taylor Rain, Belladonna, a about a dozen more. But since I probably will never decide to star in films I try not to think too much about it.
What do you ultimately hope to do?
I ultimately hope to win an award at the AVN award for like best new amateur production company or be known as the first, youngest and only Chinese (Taiwanese actually) guy to ever have become successful in the porn industry. That along with a well known fame status and to ultimately be richer than I ever imagined.
If you could change one thing about this business, what would it be?
I would like for the government to never one day pass a bill in which makes it a law for the industry to use condoms in films or swallowing or anal sex movies.
What’s a topic that really fascinates you?
Topics that usually fascinate me would be anything business-related such as marketing and business management along with real estate investing. I also love stylish things such as designer clothes and suits. When I made money in my businesses and moved out of my parent’s house in South Jersey and moved into my first apartment in Philly at the age of 19 I got rid of all my original clothes that were from like Old Navy and went to a big clothing store Boyd’s which is like NYC’s Barney’s and bought about $10 K worth of suits in one day. I have about $30 K worth of clothes from shoes, sweaters, custom fitted jeans, suits etc.
If you could have any magical power, what would it be?
Have the ability to read people’s minds and thoughts especially with women since most women like to play mind games with men.
What’s your dream car?
I usually don’t care too much about nice cars anymore since I never really take care of car maintence. I used to drive a BMW but then screwed up the engine by always driving high speeds and eventually a few years later the car engine blew up and was catching on fire. But if I had like a driver and all that I would say Cadillac and Mercedes would be my ideal cars.

Good old South Philly Cheesteaks with extra whiz with onions.
Drink of choice?
Well I’m sober and in AA program now so I mainly drink ginger ale or sprite. But back when I was an alcoholic I did multiple shots (7 at a time, one after another) of Red Death which has 5 different alcohol mixes in it, Grand Marnier or Sambuca with 3 coffee beans in a cognac glass served neat. Favorite alcohol vodka (Gray Goose and or Pravda) Captain and Cokes, Gray Goose White Russians, Kamakaze Shots, incredible Hulk drinks…
What do you think has been the most important invention in the last 100 years?
Technology and the internet. How else can you communicate through the world without these two things?
Who are your heroes?
Hugh Hefner because he’s just simply “the man” who created adult entertainment. Donald Trump since he’s made a name for himself as the most successful real estate investor and I respect that. Heidi Fleiss because she also made a na me for herself by becoming the most famous and well known successful Madam in the prostitution business and changed the stereotype that all pimps are men. Jenna Jameson for being voted the most gorgeous woman of all time and using her knowledge in the porn business to create her own empire. Howard Stern for his brutally honest mind and the fact that he isn’t afraid to speak what’s on his mind regardless of the consequences and still has the balls to fight for his freedom of speech rights no matter how much pressure the government puts on him. Also for him being the pioneer in taking a very big risk moving to Satelite Radio. Larry Flynt for the same reasons on first amendment and fighting his legal battles all the way up to the US Supreme Court and winning the right for everyone to be able to have the right to possess whatever material that is deemed indecent or obscene.
Who are your enemies?
US Dept of Justice, FCC (Federal Communications Commission) Anti- Porn religious activists, People who are rats, and obviously President George W. Bush and Michael Powell.
Favorite music? bands?
I like all types of rock, classic rock, and heavy metal bands like AC/DC, Audioslave, Aerosmith, Van Halen, Geoge Thorogood, The Doors, Def Leppard, ZZ Top, Nickelback, Guns n’ roses, Billy Idol, Alice in Chains and about several dozen more to really list.
Any religious or political affiliation?
Used to be a Republican like my father simply because I respected my father but when I found out Bush wanted to abolish the porn industry and also put too much of a censorship on American’s rights I switched sides to try to fight his re-election. He’s turning this country into one big moral religious country and driving this country into hell with handling the war.
Favorite movies, TV shows, or actors?
Favorite movies would be Godfather 1 and 2, Goodfellas. Favorite TV shows would be The Apprentice, The Sopranos, The Simpsons, Growing up Gotti. Actors would be Al Pacino, Robert DeNiro, and Sylvester Stallone.
Greatest fear, stress, or weakness?
I’m usually shy when I first meet new people.
What advice would you give someone who wants to get into this business?
I feel that’s it’s important for anyone who’s either starting out in the industry or experienced that they should always do some sorta background check on new employers and to also have a chaperone with them to a filming. I’m sure you’ve heard the sad tragic story of Natel King aka Taylor Summers who was killed in the surrounding Philly suburbs.

I have a contest going on my web site under the “Contests” page. You can take the time to review it and work it in on the interview. Also if you want to learn a bit more about my life and my situation on where I’m headed you can read the cover story Philadelphia Weekly newspaper wrote on me early January this year. At the time of the article I was nearly headed downhill and almost financially ruined. But since that article came out I’ve received a lot of offers that could really boost my notoriety and fame and more offers to make money. Some of the key things that resulted from that cover story is that some TV show producers contacted me after coming across the article and wanted me to make a few appearances on a reality tv show series that will be on a national TV channel. Not sure which station will pick it up since they have yet to decide which station to go to but I think it could be on Spike TV or HBO or MTV or whatever. The show is called Bar Pigs – The Variety Show for Men. These producers that I’m working with have done things with Howard Stern which is the # 1 priority media base for me to get booked on once my web site is fully modified to accept credit card payments along with about 10-20 more new movies. I’ve already appeared in two separate segments for the show. One was more of a little intro on who I am and what I do for a living in the porn business and a “MTV Cribs”-style segment where I gave a tour of my luxury home. The 2nd show was just this past Sat. where I was asked to appear as a celebrity judge for a contest event at a bar in West Chester PA. The contest was judging girls from the bar audience for like the best dance, best thong etc. One of the co-judges with me was John the Stutter from The Howard Stern Show and he said he read the article PW did on me since he’s from Philly which I didn’t know until that night. There’s also a possible business deal or arrangement I could be working with him and his manager to help him out on promoting him and a product and a way for him to recommend me to Howard’s show so I won’t have to hire a publicist to get booked on his show. Obviously I’ll still be hiring a publicist when the web site is all modified so I can reach out to a bigger audience in mainstream and adult industry media. Also the TV producers for Bar Pigs can also recommend me to get booked on Stern’s show.
Another thing I would say is that I’ll soon be offering classes or seminars in which I can teach investors across the country on how to get started in the adult film industry just like how I started out. I remember nobody really taught me the business when I first went into it but I was able to go on for a few years without any trouble. I would most likely charge a few thousand for the one on one seminar since if someone is a serious investor they’ll most likely would pay the asking price and since this industry there’s really no way for investors to really learn I’m available since not too many people in the industry are willing to teach other’s how to open up their own operation.
I’m also planning to write an autobiography about my life and primarily the events I’ve encountered in the industry. The book will also include a “Manual” of all the things I mentioned in my investor classes. One day I hope to have my own reality TV show about my life in the business.
