SASHA: A thousand different things went through my head at first. My initial thought was that I needed freedom. I thought that if I somehow could buy a car I could get the hell out of town. So one day I asked myself ‘how can I make money really fast?’ And I decided that the quickest way would be to have sex for money. But I didn’t just want to go stand on a corner. SASHA: I have a huge ego. So I expected to come out here and be great at porn. I expected to get myself a little corner of fame. At this point, I’m not famous obviously, but I’m doing quite well. RAY: How did your family & friends react?

SASHA: That’s actually a very small group of people. There’s my mother, my grandparents, my uncle, my father and a couple of friends. My father was who I was living with when I decided to do this. He completely disowned me and threw me out of his house. I had never really known him anyway. I had just moved there to try get to know him, so it wasn’t a big loss. He’s generally a huge piece of shit. So it was good riddance to bad rubbish. My mother reacted wonderfully. She was very nervous at first. She figured it would be what 20/20 says porn is. But I’m healthy, happy and wealthy, so she’s pleased. My friends are all completely cool with it. They’re not at all surprised. My grandfather, I don’t really know. He’s very tolerant of the situation. My grandmother has disowned me. My uncle, however, is enthused. He wants me to introduce him to all my little pornstar friends.

SASHA: Yeah [Laughs] My uncle’s awesome. He and my mom were more like my good friends growing up because my grandparents raised me. My uncle is a huge Katie Gold fan. I did a scene with her for Jim Powers and he was like “oh my god, you have to introduce me”. [Laughs] So I wasn’t sure how my family would react. If they were ashamed, hiding in a cave and not able to show their faces in the town market, that’s not really my fucking problem. But I was lucky because the people who matter reacted well.

RAY: Where are you originally from?

SASHA: I was born in San Francisco, but I spent most of my life in Scottsdale, Arizona.

RAY: How young are you?

SASHA: I’m 21. Born 1984.

RAY: So what’s new and exciting?

SASHA: My biggest thing right now is a boy/girl photo shoot I did for HUSTLER magazine. I assume it will be in the June issue, but I don’t know for sure. I’m very excited about that. I went to Larry Flynt’s big office downtown in January and took some test photos. They were like ‘okay thanks, we’ll call you’. I was like ‘yeah, right’. A few months later I was on an Elegant Angel set, and I just happened to look at my phone and there was a message. I told Frank, and he called and set it up. It was all very exciting. I spend a lot of time on ADT and that sort of thing. I’ve kind of developed a little following of perverts. “My favorite perverts”, as I call them. But hey, if there are people who actually go out and buy movies because I’m in them, that completely does it for me. It’s people who are getting off because of me. And that’s hot. It makes my day to know there are people out there doing that.

RAY: Or maybe they just like you as a person.

SASHA: [Laughs] Yeah, I’m sure they love me for my mind.

RAY: I hear you’re a bit of a recovering goth… Is that true?

SASHA: Um… [Laughs] Yes. For a long time I was very pale, with long, shoe-polish black hair. If you want to see me this way, just grab Gutter Mouths #33. That’s my first anal scene ever! RAY: Are you into goth music?

SASHA: Actually I listen to a lot of emo. I also really like classic 80′s rock. My favorite band is The Pixies. I listen to anything as long as it says something to me. It could be a country song but if it makes me feel something, I’ll listen to it. I need constant music playing. There needs to be a constant soundtrack in my life or I get very sad.

RAY: What did you do before porn?

SASHA: Before I came out here, I was living at my father’s so I wasn’t really working. He kept telling me I didn’t need to get a job so I just layed around the house. Before that, I managed a Subway. Before that, I worked at a pharmaceutical company as an assistant supervisor. I answered phones and had people yell at me all day. And before that, I was working at a hospital doing nursing. I’ve been working since I was 14. I also had many jobs in the mall. Ice cream stores, that sort of thing. Honestly, and this sounds really corny — I’m not making it up — But I pretty much had to quit or was fired from almost every job I had because I kept fucking everyone. I would always cause some sort of drama or piss somebody’s girlfriend off. I would constantly create some sort of mess because generally, I was just bored and horny. It was one of the things that made me think “where can I get a job where I’m not gonna get in trouble for being crazy and fucking people all the time?” So I pretty much figured I should do porn. I get bored really easy. I can entertain myself fine. But when you’re standing in a mall trying to sell clothes to people, you have to find some way to have fun. And why not fuck all the customers? [Laughs] But that was my mindset many years ago. I’m not going to be cliche and say that porn is therapy for me, but having such an easy job is giving me time to listen to people who have more wisdom than I do and try to learn new ways of living my life and be a better person. When you don’t have to worry about money, you have a lot more time to think about what’s really important. That’s one of the advantages to being in this industry.

RAY: Does anything bother you about porn?

SASHA: Girls that don’t do anal. [Laughs] No… I just wish that everybody who did porn actually wanted to do it. I wish it wasn’t filled with people who just want money. I know that I take what I do about a thousand times more seriously than I should. I’m not trying to say that what I do is important, but I think it is. It’s important to me. I wish both male & female talent would give 150% every time they work. If that could happen, nobody would be pissed off. There wouldn’t be any reason for director’s to bitch. It would just be fun. We would all just have hot sex and have fun with it. But I really don’t think there are enough people out there to make a successful porn industry. RAY: So you’d say your prime motivation is sex?

SASHA: Well, you know… I don’t think I would do it for free. But the money that we make is insane. Especially considering how I did this for years for free with boyfriends and stuff. It just seems like there are girls out there who show up to sets and spend most of their day looking at their watch. They just want to get naked, lay there, and get through the scene. They think that’s enough and it’s really not. There are some girls that just don’t give a shit. They’re just there to make their money. But other than dealing with people like that, I love being in porn. The high-school drama that goes on behind-the-scenes is hilarious and fun. It makes me feel about 5 years younger than I am. I honestly don’t have a problem with any of the men. They’re a necessary part of the equation. I don’t really see any reason to fight with them or make fun of them. RAY: Are you ever surprised by the level of drama in porn?

SASHA: No. You have girls having sex with men. That’s automatic competition right there. This girl wants to be better than that girl… That sort of thing. All the girls compare themselves to each other. There’s always gonna be drama when you put naked chicks together! [Laughs]

RAY: Tell me a dirty story from your personal life.

SASHA: Hmm… There are quite a few of those. Once when I was 16 I was hanging out with a friend. I’m sober now, but that day we were getting high and fooling around. We heard a knock at the door. It was his friend, so we let him in. I’m very comfortable with my body. I always have been since I was little. So I didn’t bother putting my clothes on. And my friend didn’t have his clothes on. So we were all just like — what the hell, why don’t we all get together! So just out of nowhere I had a 2-on-1 with these two guys. Instead of two girls, which is how it usually happens when you’re that young. They were both really chill. It was a great time. We fucked for three or four hours.
